In an ever-changing global landscape, we recognise that creative hubs are becoming important spaces where people can design, test, scale and launch enterprising new ideas.
With the task to design a co-working design work space within the Savoy Tower, I want to allow inventive and imaginative people to share a workspace, whether it be temparory or permanent. Creating a space that grants the users access to gain experience, tools and investment. All the while bringing design elements of the buildings history and facade into the interior in a more suggestive and modern way.
This space is designed to create collaborations between people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
This proposal for a new office space spanning the entire fifth floor of the Savoy Centre Tower focuses on creating a variety of work nodes that will allow teams of different set ups. As multiple designers over different areas will be using the space, one of the most important aspects of the floor plan is specifically areas for conversations with colleagues and clients to discuss confidential or sensitive information.

Centrally located on the floor plan are "pods" which allow existing structure to be concealed within a quiet secluded space, they create storage and a variety of other space such as a printing room and small meeting spaces. Located at the very center of the floor so that all work spaces are evenly distributed from and around these core pods.
Opting for materials that are not commonly thought of within work spaces and used sensibly to establish a core identity. Combining marble, carpet & glass partitions it creates a sence of comfort, beauty and tranquility. Marble was the material of choice because first impressions matter. Also it’s stirdy and durable. The shape used within the design was inspired by the concrete retanguar block facade of the tower.
The design makes sure natural lighting is allowed as deep as possible inside the floor by using glass partitians. The living green wall surfaces provide an acoustically efficient environment.
